We do the same in OKC, Erin. Tie the building permits to the construction of the park. Seems to work well.

How are maintenance costs handled? City takes on or does developer contribute funds?
Kevin Sigman
47:49
The city takes over the maintenance costs as the park is handed over to us when completed.
Dulce Naime, she/her/hers. Washington, DC - DPR

Do you have minimum parkland requirements for developers, based on number of units? what is the development includes affordable housing?
Christina Jang (she/her)
01:05:46
if you have a question for our speakers, please include here!
Erin Reiswerg, (she/her), City of Henderson, NV
01:05:48
Yes, we have minimum requirements based on the acres of the development as well as number of residents for the development. Currently we require 5.5 acres per 1,000 residents
Erin Reiswerg, (she/her), City of Henderson, NV
01:06:41
We also typically will not allow a park to be below 5 acres in size
Erin Reiswerg, (she/her), City of Henderson, NV
01:09:26
We are working on incorporating more affordable housing. Community Development has incentives for developers if they provide elements like affordable housing. We are also working on locating affordable housing closer to future park space that has not been developed.
Valerie Friedmann - Long Range Planning
